What are Mature Women Buying this Season to Update their Fall Looks?

Updated: Sep 12, 2022

What are mature women buying this season to update their fall looks? When it comes to fall trends, as mature women, we must decide which trends to embrace and which trends to forfeit. If you are undecided, I've got you covered. In this blog post, I will share a few stylish and trendy pieces you might want to add to your seasonal offerings this fall.

Something that is near and dear to my current fashion philosophy is...no skinny jeans! At this stage in my life, I of course want to remain fashionable but I also want comfort. Just the thought of struggling to put on a pair of skinny jeans is-not for me. I prefer wearing looser, wider leg, high waisted styles. A trend for the fall season and one that I welcome are relaxed fit jeans.

These loose-fit, 90s-inspired 5-pocket jeans with the

Low waist, zip fly with buttons, and straight legs are an excellent choice.

Another loose fitting jean option, high rise flare jeans.

They are super comfortable.

A look that is popular this season and great for mature women is the cropped jacket. I understand, many of us don't want to hear the word "cropped" when describing our clothes, however I think you might change your mind when you see the selections and how they are appropriately styled.

This tweed jacket with jewel buttons is an ideal cropped blazer. The jacket is styled with a white top which peeks out beneath the bottom.

This next blazer is what I consider a version of a cropped style because it stops just at the waist. It is of course sophisticated and can be worn with trousers, a skirt or even a dress.

Tailored, decorative pockets and notched lapels.

Next on the list for fall fashion trends to add to your wardrobe are oversized button down shirts. This was a trend last year and remains on the list. I love the versatility. They can be worn several ways—untucked, half tucked, or tied up in the front. The button down shirts can be brightly colored or beautifully patterned.

This purple button down shirt with the exaggerated sleeves is one of my faves.

This next oversized shirt in woven fabric, turned-down collar, buttons at front, yoke at back, and chest pockets with flap and button is another must have in the color green (a popular color for fall).

My final must have to add to your fall wardrobe is...drumroll...the denim skirt! Yes...it's back or did it ever really go out of style? I can recall as a youth, wearing a denim skirt and it was oh so very fashionable. Of course the look and style has been updated to reflect the current trends but yes, it's back. Here are my favorites.

This slit front skirt is 100% denim cotton fabric. Straight design,

midi design, high waist and decorative seams.

Mango

The final look to add to your fall collection is this long ankle-length, soft, washed cotton denim skirt. It has a high waist, covered elastic at waistband, and discreet side-seam pockets...and best of all, it is oh so comfortable!
