HOW TO RESET & PREPARE FOR A PRODUCTIVE WEEK: HOUSE CLEANING+SELF CARE+SELF REFLECTION

How to reset and prepare for a productive week: house cleaning, self-care and self reflection.

It is important to be intentional about the things we do that will bring about positive results. Establishing a routine list of actions to do on Saturday is key. For me, productivity during the weekend makes me feel calmer and more prepared to tackle the week ahead.

Here are a few things I do on a typical Saturday to reset for the next week.

The first thing I do is wake up and express gratitude. Gratitude helps me feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences and help me deal with any adversity I may have experienced during the week. I then exercise. Early exercise helps me start the day with more energy, focus, and optimism.

I then shower and spend time pampering myself. Self-Care is so very important and it should be a life-long habit, something you routinely do for yourself. My Saturday mornings include time brushing my skin. Dry brushing is a method of gently exfoliating your skin using a special firm-bristled brush. Some people use it as part of their skin routine to try to restore firmness (great cellulite treatment) , get rid of dry skin flaking, and encourage blood flow to certain areas of the body. Dry brushing has roots in healing practices of ancient cultures.

I then focus on skincare. Lately I have been using the Sephora Clean Collection including the Ultra Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C Serum and the Targeted Wrinkle Serum. So far, I have had good results and it is oh so affordable! If I am going outside, I will put on a little make-up including my favorite foundation, CC+Cream with SPF 50 by It Cosmetics.

Next is, time to eat a simple but fulfilling breakfast. I enjoy the Cinnamon Three Wishes Protein and Gluten-Free Cereal...not only is it yummy but it is oh so healthy. Three Wishes’ Cereal is a good source of protein, contain just 3g sugar and are made with nutrient-rich, plant-based ingredients. I add coconut milk and a few blueberries to the cereal.

...and then I clean my home. I start from the bottom to the top floor. Clutter and the endless list of chores can really affect our mood in a negative way. There are so many benefits of a clean home including health benefits, psychological, hygienic, and more. Cleaning my home is so important as it relates to preparing for a new week.

I was delighted when I was contacted and asked to try a steam mop cleaner. After doing a little research, I agreed and was excited to use this machine during my routine Saturday cleaning. I must say this steam cleaner did an amazing job on my laminate and tile floors. Steam cleaning has become the cleaning method of choice for most health-savvy households. There are plenty of reasons why. Unlike traditional cleaning methods, steam cleaning has amazing benefits for you, your family, and even your pets. My steam mop cleaner is environmentally friendly since it reduces the number of chemicals that get washed down the drain and recycled back into our water supply.

After cleaning my home, I like to spend time doing something relaxing. One thing I enjoy is going to a park or a very scenic area where I spend time in deep self reflection. Self-reflection is important because it is the key to self-awareness. It is time for me to assess my thoughts, feelings, emotions and my actions. Continued self-reflection will lead to growth, positivity and overall happiness.
