Fall dress trends every mature woman should own, something for every budget. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know I have an appreciation for dresses. There is something exciting about sliding into an amazing dress that makes you feel put together with little effort. In this blog I will feature a few of my favorites from some of my preferred retailers.
As I explore the new fall dress trends and in an attempt to uncover choices that are stylish, classy and age appropriate, I put all of the following dresses in my online shopping cart too!
Of course there are many trends to consider but I focused on just a few including the sweater dress and over the knee dresses. They are essential styles that mature women will appreciate. So sit back, grab a beverage and let's...go...shopping.
Nothing says fall like this printed trim sweater dress from Macy's. A bold print at the neckline and hem brings contemporary style to this soft knit sweater dress.
...and this mock neck tie-waist ribbed dress from Bloomingdales is on trend for fall 2021. It is indeed a must have item to include in your wardrobe and can be worn for a variety of occasions.
The next dress is from H&M, offering both affordability and style. This ribbed knit sweater dress is delightful and can be worn as shown with a pair of trousers or simply as a dress.
I am often asked, is it okay for women over the age of 50 to wear mini dresses. While I prefer (as a mature woman) to wear midi or below the knee length dresses, there are occasions when I will wear a shorter dress. My rule when doing so is of course pay attention to the style of the dress. At my age, I am in no way trying to dress youthful but to remain conservative and look fabulously styled as a mature woman. This delightful knot-sleeve dress over at Macy's is a good example of an above the knee look for a mature woman. The brilliant blue color is surely a trend for fall.
Another example of an over the knee style at Lulus is this grey sweater dress. If you prefer not to have so much of your legs exposed, simply wear a pair of tights and perhaps add a high boot.
This collared fit and flare dress is another example of an above the knee style at Macy's and is indeed suitable for women over age 50. This dress instantly elevates your everyday style with a refined and sleek air of sophistication.
When I saw this next dress at Macy's, I was in love! This elegant high neck printed chiffon dress with pleats that boast refined texture and dimensions that gracefully fall against the body....and the color...the color...love it! It is the perfect over the knee fit for mature women.
Last but not least is this smashing red wrap sweater dress from Lulus. This medium weight knit is soft and stretchy as it shapes this long sleeve dress with a surplice bodice, adjustable waist sash and wrap skirt. This dress offers a figure-skimming fit!
